Robert Grese, professor at the University of Michigan and biographer of Jens Jensen, will compare Jensen to other architects and landscape designers in the early 20th century.  Visit www.lauritzengardens.org for more details about Lauritzen Gardens and this public program.

]]> support@dwebware.com Fri, 18 May 2012 <![CDATA[Book Sale]]> Looking to brush up on your Danish?  The museum will have many used Danish-language titles for sale - and some English-language volumes too - in the museum lobby from May 25 through May 28.  Many bargains available, and all purchases support the museum's Acquisition Fund for collection artifacts.  

Sorry, we cannot provide a list of titles for sale.  All transactions must be completed in person.  

]]> support@dwebware.com Fri, 25 May 2012 <![CDATA[Tivoli Fest]]> Celebrate Danish heritage at The Danish Immigrant Museum and throughout the community of Elk Horn!  Enjoy the parade, food, fun run/walk, the Tour of Tivoli bike ride, and many entertainers and craft demonstrations.  

The Museum will be open for Tivoli Fest 9-5 on Saturday, and 12-5 on Sunday.  Bedstemor's House also opens for tours that weekend, beginning the summer schedule of daily hours from 1 to 4pm.

The work of Neoma Thomas will be on view from July 21 through January 6, 2013.  Her work explores the presence of past generations in family life, and her intersecting interests in portraiture and genealogy.  Neighbors in Audubon County, Iowa, may recognize many of the faces and names included in her work!
