Donations
Donations to the Museum’s artifact collection follow a very specific process which is accordance with standards and guidelines set by the American Association of Museums.
When a donation is offered, the donor must fill out and sign a Temporary Artifact Receipt. This does not transfer ownership to the Museum, but gives us permission to consider the gift for the collection.
Once a month, our Collections Review Committee meets to review all new donation offers. We evaluate them based on their connection to our mission, on whether the artifact is a duplicate to something we already have, whether it has significant documentation and history, and any other criteria pertinent to an individual donation. If accepted, we issue a Deed of Gift, which is the form that transfers ownership and completes the donation.
All donations are unconditional and unrestricted gifts to the Museum. For more information about our procedures

- Call the Museum and ask to speak with staff about our collections. (Angela Stanford, Curator of Collections/Registrar)
Donations to our Family History and Genealogy Center are handled through a different process directly through Michele McNabb, Manager and Librarian.
