Hans Jensen purchased this camera for his fiancée, Helga Hansen, as a Christmas present in 1921. This was their first Christmas in America. Hans Jensen saw this camera as the perfect gift for the whole family because now they could show relatives in Denmark their new life in America. Helga used the camera often through out the years, leaving a significant pictorial record of their life on a farm near Viborg, South Dakota. She took pictures of all the different aspect of their life: farming chores; equipment operations; family activities; and the growth of their two children. They also brought it with them on their first and only trip back to Denmark in 1949. The camera survived the passionate use through the couple's 54 years of married life.
