Heady Stuff (Hatte og Huer)

In 1929 Ethel Christoffersen of Exira answered a newspaper ad for a secretary who was “unencumbered and free to travel,” and ended up working for a company executive just as the Great Depression was beginning. After Ethel helped the family through a difficult time the executive’s wife took her to a furrier and purchased her a muskrat coat as a bonus. Her two milliner aunts, Dorthea & Marie Rasmussen, felt that she should have a suitable hat for the coat and created this cloche for her to wear with it.
