A Smorgasbord of Danish Immigrants

Isaac was a native of Lille Heddinge, in Præstø County in southeastern Zealand, where he was one of twin boys born on Aug. 2, 1838. He was 31 when he left his homeland for Pottawattamie County, Iowa, where he purchased land in Boomer & Hazel Dell Twps. In 1875 he married Marie Petersen, who was born in Store Taarøje, Denmark. They had 4 children: Victoria, Viggo, Peter, and Carl, as well as a daughter, Louise, who died young. Peter became a trustee of the Lutheran Church in Boomer Twp.
