Jacob Christian Bach, born in 1837 in Tranum parish in Hjørring County, was wounded during his service in the Dano-Prussian War of 1864. He immigrated to the U. S. around 1891 and farmed in Brayton, Audubon County, Iowa. He died in nearby Kimballton.
