G is for Generations

In 1903, dairyman Jens Knud Larsen and his family left their home in Grejs Valley, Vejle County via Southampton, England, for Correctionville, Iowa.
At the turn of the century Jens Knud and Mette Margrethe Larsen and their two young daughters (far right) were photographed with her parents and extended family in Denmark.

The family later located in Woodbury County, where their portrait was taken in 1910. Standing are Signe Marie Larsen, “Margaret,” the girls’ mother, and Thora Augusta Larsen. In front sits Jens Knud Larsen and his unnamed mother-in-law.
In 1947 Signe and Thora gathered their families together in Pine City, Minnesota, for a group photograph. Jens Knud Larsen sits with his offspring in front on the left. Note that his moustache has not changed in over 50 years!
