Confirmation: Coming of Age in Denmark and the US

Virgil Hansen was confirmed in Elk Horn Lutheran Church in 1943 by his father, Rev. Anders Hansen, who was called to the community in 1931 (featured elsewhere in this exhibit). Virgil said that his father was very strict, but that the students in confirmation class really learned a lot. Virgil admitted to being an “ornery preacher’s kid,” which others confirmed to be the case.
