Library & Genealogy
The Family History & Genealogy Center (FHGC) is the research library of The Danish Immigrant Museum. Since it opened in 1996, the Center has assisted many individuals in finding links to their Danish immigrant past and has located lost relatives for both Danish and American researchers.
A significant collection of family history resources and background materials relating to Danish immigrants, settlements and institutions can be found at the FHGC. Assistance is available for both novice genealogists and experienced family historians that need help with Danish research.
The FHGC is located on Main Street in Elk Horn, Iowa, about one-half mile from The Danish Immigrant Museum grounds. A full-time Librarian Manager and trained volunteers are available to assist with your genealogical needs.
Translation and research services are offered. The FHGC is a member of the Iowa Library Services Southwest District and is an affiliate library for microfilm and microfiche materials available through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
