Recognition

All contributions during a calendar year are cumulative for recognition purposes. The name of each donor will be recognized at least once annually in the Annual Report.

There are nine levels of recognition, based upon total annual contributions:

Order of Jylland                $10,000 and above
Order of Sjælland            $5,000 - $9,999
Order of Fyn                      $2,500 - $4,999
Order of Bornholm          $1,000 - $2,499
Order of Lolland               $500 - $999
Order of Falster                $250 - $499
Order of Amager              $100 - $249
Order of Læsø                  $50 - $99
Order of Fanø                   Under $50

All members contributing $1,000 or more to the Annual Fund during the calendar year will be recognized in the Annual Report as members of the Annual Leadership Society.

Members of the Lifetime Leadership Society are recognized for cumulative gifts of $25,000 or more to The Danish Immigrant Museum and/or The Danish Immigrant Museum Endowment. Their names will be listed on the Lifetime Leadership Society Plaque in the museum.

A donor who makes known a planned gift to the museum and signs a Statement of Intent while living, will be recognized on the Heritage Builders Plaque. This shall apply to both irrevocable and revocable gifts alike. Gifts from estates of those who did not make known their plans while alive will be recognized posthumously on the same plaque.

The Wall of Honor displays the names of Danish immigrants, their adopted United States city, and the year of immigration. The information is displayed on permanent plaques in the museum. Contributors to the Wall of Honor will be recognized in the America Letter.

Contributions may be made to the museum in memory of or in honor of others. The honoree of such gifts will be recognized in the America Letter.
