Julefest Christmas tree

Julefest is an annual celebration held in the Danish Villages of Elk Horn-Kimballton on the Friday and Saturday immediately following Thanksgiving. Both communities will be festively decorated for Christmas.

At the museum we invite you to enjoy home-baked cookies, gløgg, and coffee in the museum's “hyggelig julestue" on Friday and Saturday. We have a LEGO play area and crafts for the kids . . . both young and old .... Fun for the entire family!

Bedstemor's House at 2105 College Street will be open from 1-4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The museum's Genealogy Center on Main Street will have Christmas activities, pebernødder & wassail, and a pictorial tour of Denmark on Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visit our Design Store stocked with gifts for the entire family ~ beautiful jewelry, kitchen ware, Danish spreads and treats, and of course, the Annual Keepsake Ornament and Christmas Cards.

Admission during Julefest is FREE for the museum, Bedstemor's House, and the Genealogy Center!

See our Design Store for our annual Christmas card and Ornament. Please place your order early as there is a limited supply.
