Mr. and Mrs. Claus Ohms built this house in 1877 on their 80-acre farm in the community of Copenhagen in Shelby County, Iowa. They farmed it for one year, and then returned to Davenport, Iowa, renting the farm out. In 1881 they moved back and lived here until 1893, when a son took over the farm’s management. In 1906 a new house was built to replace this one. The farm is currently the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Galen Johannsen.
