Anders and Anna (1871-1970) emigrated from Denmark to Maynard, Massachusetts, and in 1909 posed for this family photograph with their three children, George Leslie (in front), Karen Marie Amelia "Mary" (2nd row right) and Carl Alexander "Allie" (back row center). Also in the photo are two nieces, Ingaborg and Olga Petersen, who were taken in and raised by their uncle and aunt after a family tragedy. Another niece and two nephews were raised by other relatives in Minnesota or Danish families in Massachusetts.

In 1965 the family gathered to celebrate Anna Margrethe’s 94th birthday. Shown are (back row): George Leslie Petersen, Bob Smith, Don Weeks, Armand Auger (holding Crystal), Karen Marie Amelia’s daughter, Ada Weeks, and her husband, Stanton Weeks. (front row, standing): Carl Alexander Petersen and wife, Rita; Anna Margrethe Petersen, Karen Petersen Edwards and daughter, Beulah Edwards; Loretta Weeks (holding Don). Kneeling in front: Sandra Auger (holding Dean Auger), Fred and Marcia Cayford, and Cheryl Auger. “Grandma” Petersen died in November of 1970.
