Orange Blossoms and LaceRaymond Hansen and Marie Sorensen were married on August 17, 1932, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, Iowa. They met at the church and many of their “dates” were Luther League meetings and activities. Raymond was born in Shelby County, Marie in Hjallerup, Denmark. At the time of their marriage it was traditional for women to sit on one side of the church during services and men on the other. Following their marriage several couples who married around the same time decided it was time for a change, and they started sitting together as couples during the service. Marie was a resident of Salem Home in Elk Horn at the time this photo was exhibited.
