    Flag, Denmark, Vimple, 80" Description:

The Vimple Flag dates as far back as Viking Times. It is sometimes called the "home coming flag". The flag would be rolled up on the top of the mast of the ship, and as the ship left the home port it would be rolled in by the captain or navigator. Upon return home, the flag would be let out little by little until the ship was home. The crew could tell each day how close they were to home.

Today homes use them to indicate the family is at home and can be left up night and day, unlike the country flag.
