Was Peter Lassen America’s Most Famous Dane? And Why?
Kenneth Johnston previously worked as a park ranger at Lassen Volcanic National Park, where he developed a living history program on Peter Lassen. Lassen has a National Park, a 10,454 foot volcano, a National Forest, a California County and many other things named in his honor. He pioneered the Lassen Trail, over which one third of the 1849 Gold Rush Argonauts traveled.
