On January 10, 2024, our beloved Building & Grounds Manager, Tim Fredericksen, retired after thirty years of service to the museum. Throughout the years, Tim has become much more than a colleague—he’s a cornerstone of our museum family and of the community.

We gathered together to celebrate Tim and the profound impact he’s had, not only on the museum itself but on each and every one of us. From greeting us with a smile in the morning to keeping our spaces well-kept, Tim has been an integral part of MoDA and has famously worked here since the doors first opened in 1994. More than just maintaining the grounds, Tim’s work reflected a deep sense of pride and genuine love for the museum and its mission.

Thank you, Tim, for your decades of hard work, kindness, and unwavering commitment. Tim’s care and dedication will be felt for years to come, and his presence will be missed by all who had the privilege of working with him. We wish Tim all the best in this new chapter of his life, knowing he leaves behind a legacy of excellence and heartfelt commitment.
