Museum of Danish America Announces Hire of Ronald D. and Mary L. Bro Prairie Intern

My name is Violet Harper, and I am very excited to introduce myself as the Ronald D. and Mary L. Bro Prairie Intern! I was born and raised in Harlan, Iowa, and am ecstatic to be giving back to my local community.
Over the course of the summer, I have the honor of assisting Mr. Tim Palmer with all the wonderful work he does restoring and maintaining the Jens Jensen Prairie Landscape Park. I have just completed my freshman year at the University of Iowa, where I am pursuing my bachelors degree in Environmental Policy &
Planning with a certificate in Creative Writing, on the Pre-Law track!
This internship is not only a chance to restore an endangered ecosystem, but a chance to restore and cultivate communities, knowledge, and Danish culture, which the museum has dedicated itself to. I’m excited to explore my Danish heritage and am fascinated to learn about the sustainability practices Danes have created not only in the past but are cultivating for the future as well.
Outside of work, I enjoy swimming, tanning, and being outside in nature.
When I’m not exploring the great outdoors, I love video games, reading and writing, and am currently working on my own sci-fi novel, “Blood & Wires.”
