Nick Praest.

My name is Nick, and I am a Scan Design Foundation Intern working in the curatorial department at MoDA. I grew up near Egtved in Jutland, Denmark—known for the Egtved Girl and for its proximity to Billund, home of LEGO. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in history and Latin at Aarhus University.

This is not my first time in the U.S. In 2009, I traveled the Midwest with my parents and siblings in an RV, even stopping to visit Elk Horn. I am excited to return as an intern at MoDA and to create new memories here. The museum’s focus on identity and heritage interests me, and I am grateful for the chance to contribute to telling stories that connect Denmark and America while linking the past with the present. I will be assisting with upcoming exhibits, and I look forward to see how ideas take shape and become exhibits.

When I’m not looking at peculiar objects and researching their history, I am out enjoying nature, either hiking or hunting. If the weather isn’t ideal for hiking, then I will be at home reading, watching a movie, or cooking up my next meal.
