In 2024, the Museum of Danish America will be offering a week-long theater camp, three summer day camps and a recurring program called Storytime in the Prairie. We hope to provide a safe space for kids to gain new experiences, explore the outdoors, and grow in their appreciation of art and culture, all while having fun and making memories with others. 

LEGOS & Bots Grades K-3 Register

This camp is geared towards LEGO and robot lovers who want to bring their creations to life with age-appropriate and fun STEM challenges. Held in collaboration with ISU Extension & Outreach.

June 12: 9 am - 3 pm.

$25 with lunch provided. Museum members receive a $5 discount. Space is limited.


Storytime in the Prairie Grades K-3 Register

Celebrate Little House on the Prairie's 50th anniversary with stories read by the Elk Horn Public Library and snacks and activities to match each monthly theme. 
Held in collaboration with the Elk Horn Public Library.

    Theater Camp Grades 6 & Up Register

    Join the fun and gain experience at a week-long theater camp that culminates in a production of Hans Christian Andersen plays!

    June 17-22: 9 am - 12 pm. 

    Practices held Monday - Friday with a live performance on Saturday night at 7 pm. FREE.


    Viking Camp Grades 4-8 Register

    An adventurous day spent learning about what daily life was like for a Viking! This camp includes many hands-on activities from foods and crafts to battles and games. Held in collaboration with the Danish Windmill.

    July 19: 9 am - 3 pm. 

      $25 with lunch provided. Museum members receive a $5 discount. Space is limited.


      Kids Run the Museum Day Grades 4-8 Register

      Explore the museum's storage vault, learn how to safely handle artifacts, curate your own exhibition, create social media content, and more while working alongside different museum staff members!

      July 30: 9 am - 3 pm. 

      $25 with lunch provided. Museum members receive a $5 discount. Space is limited.
