The mounted bird is the Danish bird called “Northern lapwing” or Vibe in Danish. It’s one of the most common migratory birds in Denmark. Niels Regner Andersen mounted the bird in Stenum in the northern part of Jutland. It was given to his uncle Ernest when he was visiting Denmark in 1970. Ernest Andersen had left Denmark for Avoca, Iowa, in 1927.
