    Summer Programming Intern

    Museum of Danish America

    Elk Horn, Iowa


    The Museum of Danish America (MoDA) is seeking a part-time team member to assist with 2024 summer programming. The Summer Programming Intern will work collaboratively with the Youth & Community Educator and other museum staff to assist with a wide range of programs including youth camps, SPARK! lifelong learning, community partnerships, Bedstemor’s House, and all other museum events for a variety of ages. 


    Job Type: Seasonal with no benefits

    Start and End Date: Approximately May 28, 2024, - August 9, 2024

    Hours: Average of 30 hours per week

    Hourly Wage: $11-$13/hour

    Application Deadline: 05/13/2024


    Responsibilities

    • Assist with planning and implementation of all summer educational programming
    • Assist in preparation and organization of all summer events
    • Work with attendees and staff to create a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment for all
    • Provide staff coverage and give tours of Bedstemor’s House, MoDA’s historic home
    • Other duties as assigned


    Qualifications

    • People and customer service oriented
    • Interest in and/or knowledge of working with youth and educational activities
    • Organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, and ability to achieve deadlines
    • Ability to work as a team to develop and deliver quality programming
    • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Computer skills
    • Must be dedicated, dependable, and flexible
