Sofie immigrated to South Dakota in the spring of 1916, following her Danish sweetheart, John Larsen, who had come earlier. Following their marriage the couple farmed in South Dakota before moving to Alberta, Canada. They had seven daughters, two of whom are featured elsewhere in this exhibit.
